SEA_TEST: Underwater technology on sea test rig and long-term observatory
(IFM-GEOMAR); Dr. Peter Linke
The demand for in-situ testing facilities of underwater systems has been identified separately by industrial and research bodies in Schleswig-Holstein and Brittany. It is planned to provide sea test facilities over a wide part (ten square kilometres) of a bay with a limitation (at least temporary) of other activities. The infrastructure will be based on a permanent two directional link from the coast to the seabed offshore. Although deep water sites are planned in the future, most tests must be performed on shallow water sites not far from the shore with low cost access. -> more
